The challenge
Useful guidance starts with context.
Writing a CV is only the beginning. People also need to understand how their experience fits a particular role, what to improve and how to explain their strengths.
ChatJOB AI connects those steps. Users can build or upload a CV, add a job description and receive feedback on their application. They can then explore suggestions through a conversation linked to that CV.
We brought together the application interface, backend services, structured CV records and AI integration to make that journey possible.
What we built

Practical tools for preparing an application, with the user in control of what to change.
CV builder and upload
Build a CV through structured sections for education, experience, skills and projects, with a live preview. Upload an existing CV to bring it into the same review workflow.
Feedback for the role
Add the job title, employer and job description. Receive a CV rating and section-by-section feedback that helps identify strengths and areas to improve.
Conversation with CV context
Ask follow-up questions about the feedback. The application links AI interactions to the selected CV so the conversation stays relevant to the application being prepared.
Tailored motivation letters
Use the CV and a real job description to generate a motivation letter as a starting point. Review and adapt the result before using it in an application.
How we built it
A full-stack application with an AI layer.
The development architecture brings together a React interface, a Node.js and Express backend, MongoDB data storage and OpenAI integration.
React
The user interface: dashboard, profile, CV forms, live preview and feedback screens.
Node.js + Express
Backend routes and controllers for accounts, CV actions and AI requests.
MongoDB
Structured records for profiles, CVs, feedback and linked assistant context.
OpenAI API
AI-assisted review, follow-up conversation and motivation letter generation.
From user input to useful feedback
The backend connects stored CV data with the selected job context, handles the AI request and returns the response to the interface. Each CV has its own linked assistant thread in the documented architecture.

Context per CV
Separate assistant threads keep feedback tied to an individual CV. Switching CVs changes the context used for the next interaction.
Requests at meaningful moments
The final architecture places the first AI review after CV submission. Dashboard navigation and filling in the form do not need a continuous stream of AI requests.
A familiar user experience
Profile and resume management, email or Google sign-in, light and dark modes, and a multilingual interface make the tools easier to navigate.
