ABOUT THE PROJECT

What is this project about?

WebMoms: Empowering Mothers in Tech supports mothers in Italy and the Netherlands who face barriers when entering or re-entering the labour market. The project combines practical technology education with soft-skills development and employability support, creating a flexible pathway towards sustainable careers in the digital economy.

Participants build technical capabilities in full-stack web development, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Node.js, Express and MongoDB. Complementary learning in graphic design, coding and artificial intelligence broadens their digital confidence, while soft-skills sessions strengthen communication, teamwork, time management, problem-solving, leadership and self-promotion.

The programme is designed around the realities of motherhood. Blended, live and self-paced learning allows participants to balance training with family responsibilities, while mentoring and community support help them remain engaged and progress with confidence.

After the training, dedicated employability sessions cover CV development, presentation letters, interviews, assessments and professional networking. A final Career Day connects participants with employers and representatives from the technology sector, opening direct pathways to jobs, internships and freelance opportunities.

WebMoms aims to train at least 30 mothers – 20 in Italy and at least 10 in the Netherlands – and contribute to greater gender equality, financial independence and diversity within the technology workforce.

What Entelya brings to the project?

Entelya contributes through Stichting Social Hacker NL as the partnership’s technology-education specialist.

We lead the development and implementation of the Full Stack Web Development learning pathway, designing the methodology, curriculum and practical training content around skills that are in demand across the technology sector. Our educational team also supports learner selection, introductory preparation and ongoing guidance to reduce barriers to participation and course completion.

Drawing on our experience in inclusive digital education and connections with the technology industry, we help participants translate newly acquired skills into realistic career opportunities. We also contribute to project coordination, communication, quality assurance, employability activities and the international exchange of effective practices between Italy and the Netherlands.
